Biophilia is described as an evolutionary conditioned need to bond with nature, experience its proximity and maintain contact with it. In the series Primal Lights I discover and at the same time construct a hidden, ominous, claustrophobic and eerie world, full of artifacts. Even though civilization is absent, there is no pristine wilderness; man-made traces still exist, a chain hanging on a tree, a torch, strange-looking people and animals. I strongly resonate and therefore I keep returning to these places again and again. I photograph them at dawn, in the moonlight and all year round. Is nature just a shared place we are all associated with? The viewer is left to decide on its own.
